Anxi Tie Guan Yin
Tie Guan Yin or Iron Goddess of Mercy, is a style of tea as well as a tea cultivar.
Tie Guan Yin has been produced in Anxi County, Fujian Province for centuries. It eventually made its way over to Taiwan where it was planted in Muzha, northern Taiwan.
Traditionally oxidized at a higher rate and finished with a deeper roast, modern Tie Guan Yin from Anxi are much lighter in oxidation often times with no roast.
We wanted to find a counterpart to our Taiwaese Tie Guan Yin and Hong Guan Yin. Though, the cultivar is the same, the production and terroir create vastly different teas.
